Instant Star

Instant Star follows the story of Jude Harrison(Alexz Johnson) who wins an American Idol-like contest. The show followers her life dealing with record labels, friends, crazy fans, and other aspects fo celebrity and how her life has changed. Instant Star ran for 4 seasons.

Some unique features of the show were that the title of each episode was named after a song, such as “Should I Stay or Should I Go”, “London Calling”, and “Won’t Get Fooled Again”. The only other show to have this episode title layout is One Tree Hill.

Alexz Johnson wrote at least 8 songs for the show. They include “Criminal“, “24 Hours“, and “Skin“. After season 1 she let the writers of the show handle the songs until contributing “I Just Wanted Your Love” in season 4.

Jude Harrison was named for the Beatles song “Hey Jude” and Beatles lead guitarist George Harrison:

stephenstohn @—– Yes. In fact, I wanted to call the show “Hey Jude”, but we were advised against it by our trademark/copyright lawyers!
