Operation: Hurricane
Alexz put out the call for us just yesterday on her website:
The thing is, we can’t do it all by ourselves! More than ever we need you guys. We need your support, we need your help in promoting the music and getting it out there.

So this is what I propose we do. All of us bring something to the table that can help her out. Some special skill or ability that maybe we didn’t think of using in a specific way. I understand the Internet. I’ve been working on it through websites for a few years now, so my skill is in content and product promotion. This can be powerful on its own, but with many people doing the same objective it can be hugely influential. So, what I’m going to do is give my visitors to this website some things they can do to help promote Alexz on the internet. I know I probably only have a handful of visitors now and I hope that will change and this gets around.
I’m calling this Operation: Hurricane after our own Hurricane Girl 🙂
I aim to do a new task every week for this. If there’s a lot of demand to do things quicker or more often I’ll adjust them to twice a week. You should also know how what you are doing is going to help Alexz. Where possible I’ll link up needed websites and any software you may need(free, I don’t like paying for stuff either). Overall, we’re simply trying to make Alexz visible in as many places as possible around the internet and to as many people as possible any time she shows up.
Let me let you guys in on a secret now so you understand the large task at hand. Celebrities are typically not profitable in any business sense on the internet. The reason they are not is because no one, who is actively looking to spend money, searches for them. For this reason that market is considered to either not exist or not to be worth pursuing if it does.
I KNOW that the Alexz “market” exists and I know how badly we want to see her succeed. The internet now does not reflect that want or desire though. So, in a way, we also have to create that market while we promote her as we normally do. When that market is created marketers will take note and ease up our workload a bit since they’ll jump on board to promote her too. Mainly, I need you guys to know there is a bigger picture and idea in mind, and while the tasks can seem small, and probably insignificant, they do have a purpose.
I also encourage anyone interested to register on this site also and apply to be a Guest Writer. I also can’t do all of this by myself, and those of you who don’t have a website, or don’t want to worry about running one, can use this site to post stuff.
So, enough talk from me for right now, and I hope it’s easy to see what I want to do 🙂 To give you an idea of what to expect I’ll start off week 1 with something simple.
Week 1: Add an Alexz Johnson website or video to your forum signatures.
A lot of people chat on message boards. Under every post you can put in special text and links. I just want you to link to an Alexz website, could be her official one(maybe the music page), this one, or wherever, or maybe a YouTube video and label it appropriately. Don’t mislead any links.
How this helps Alexz: People click on those links. The traffic that goes through there will see exactly what is on the other side(why a video or music page may be best). We want people to get interested without pushing her or shoving her down their throats. If overdone and forced that can cause them to hate her no matter how talented she is and that is NOT what I want you do. Instead I suggest you link to something of hers and invite comments. Maybe “PM me about Alexz Johnson if you like what you hear.”
