Voice of an Angel Campaign
I had this idea after promoting Alexz on Twitter for awhile. Since you have to say what you want to say in as few characters as possible you need to find a quick way to get your point across. What better way to describe Alexz’s voice than “voice of an angel”? It works REALLY well on Twitter’s weekly Music Mondays, where people are free to promote any artist they choose.
So I thought, wouldn’t it be cool if you could Google voice of an angel and have Alexz’s name and website show up as the #1 result? I can see we have the combined power to make this happen. There’s enough of us to do it.
This is also a cool activity we can do as a community where we can watch the results over time as AlexzOnline climbs up the search results in Google eventually being #1. 🙂 To be honest, I WANT her to have that position in Google. It’s not only cool, but every fan will be able to say “If you Google voice of an angel you’ll see Alexz Johnson!” THAT prospect makes me excited and happy since it’s something we really can do and really CAN accomplish.
So what exactly do you need to do? I’m not going into the way linking works since it’s far greater than this post could cover, but the example below should basically explain how this will work. Copy the code below and put it places you know it will stick. We DO NOT want these links to be removed, so put them in places like forum signatures, a blog if you have one, in your profile information of any websites you’re a member of, places like that.

It’s important the words between the link code are set EXACTLY as it’s written. Order matters. So don’t try to shorten or lengthen the intended phrase. A crude explanation for how and why this works is because search engine bots associate the destination(AlexzJohnson.com) with the words that are anchored in the link(“Voice of an Angel”). so if we keep telling those search engine bots AlexzOnline is about “Voice of an Angel” it will catch on and eventually push her site to the top of the rankings for that particular search.
This will also be a real time test of our ability to work together as a community. A similar task may be necessary to promote her online when her single and album comes out. So practice now and know that each time you link her site this way it gets one step closer to being #1 in Google for Voice of an Angel.
