The first time I saw Alexz Johnson was from watching one of the photoshoots she was doing with photographer Gabrielle Revere which our LA correspondent Kana Manglapus covered and which we featured right HERE recently. The photo shoot on YouTube is featured at the end of the story. I did my research at the time and knew that Alexz was coming up with a CD soon and figured I would wait a while till Kana could work out a short Q & A around her own busy schedule.

A couple weeks ago, I saw Alexz Johnson trending on Twitter. I wasn’t sure why, but I knew her time was NOW. To be exact ~ on April 26, 2011 when her latest album “Reloaded” is released.

Canadian-born Alexzandra “Alexz” Spencer Johnson was surrounded by music and acting early in life just being surrounded by siblings. She is the 6th of 10 children. Imagine being inspired so early! I was so thrilled at how sweet with as in both replying to the short Q & A and providing us with the photos we’re sharing with you here today. It also inspired me to check out her past work ~ and she has been hard at work.

Alexz is best known for her roles as Jude Harrison in the CTV series Instant Star, as Annie Thelan in the Disney Channel series So Weird, and as Erin Ulmer in the 2006 horror film Final Destination 3. She was nominated three times for a Gemini Award for Best Performance in a Children’s or Youth Program or Series (Instant Star), winning the award in 2008. [source: Wikipedia]

I was so fascinated by her seemingly gentle tone, so I viewed a few of her videos on YouTube, particularly this one of “Look At Those Eyes” which is currently available as a single on iTunes. I was hooked. She’s adorable!

All of us at Clout & About wish Alexz the best on the release of her album. I hope we get to meet her someday! In the meantime, that privilege belongs to her friend and our contributor, Kana Manglapus, whose short interview follows.

KM: What’s your current state of mind?
AJ: Excited, ready, a little fearless

KM: What is your favorite way of spending time?
AJ: With loved ones, being outside and eating delicious food

KM: What historical figure do you most identify with?
AJ: Amelia Earhart – she was trying to do the impossible, which is how it feels sometimes…

KM: Which living person do you most admire?
AJ : My Mom.

KM: What is your most treasured possession?
AJ: My Gibson Dove

KM: When and where were you happiest?
AJ: Maui with my entire family of 12 in 2006

KM: What do you value most in your friends?
AJ: Loyalty

KM: What is your motto (words you live by or that mean a lot to you)?
AJ: Whom much is given, much is expected.

KM: What inspires your music?
AJ: The humour in life, the worst of times and the in between.

KM: Who has been the greatest influence on you?
AJ: Probably my brother Brendan

KM: What is your most obvious characteristic?
AJ: My bad jokes.
