Watching Alexz perform live was something I only experienced in a dream, so when she released her tour dates and Chicago was one of her stops I immediately started planning my trip.So after weeks of waiting the day finally arrived and after 6 hours of driving from Minnesota we finally arrived to Chicago and stopped at Schubas to check it out. A few hours later after settling into the hotel we drove to Schubas again but this time for her show, I was thrilled that the line was still short. I got to talk to two fans and after a few moments of being there Alexz walked by and I don’t know how I contained myself but I managed. She is just as beautiful in person as she is in video.
So finally meet and greet time arrived and we were let inside the performance room. As I waited in line I still could not believe it. I purchased a few items from the merch table so she could sign. My turn came up and as I mumbled and stuttered I managed to tell her how great and talented she was and with her low tone voice she said thankyou and signed my stuff. My picture came out bad but I was able to take a second one after waiting in line again. I was so anxious to hear her perform that her opening act seemd like forever (they were good though) but it was worth the wait. Her setlist was the same from her previous shows, she started with Weight which is one of my favorites, her voice is just so strong and amazing that her videos just don’t do her justice. The entire show was freaking amazing, she interacted with the audience during the entire show. I think this crowd was one of the loudest I can actually hear my voice in some of the videos my sister filmed. I never wanted this night to end but all good things must come to an end so we had to leave, but I immediately promised myself that I would see her perform live again…and that is a promise I plan to keep!!
