Tonight Alexz gave her first #AskAlexz since her Spring Tour has ended. We found out a lot of cool information. Below are the highlights.
**What inspired you to write “Walking”? Its such an amazing song it truly is 🙂 “Thank you 🙂 It was inspired by finding myself walking alone at night in Nashville and seeing fireflies for the first time”
**What is your greatest inspiration? “Authenticity and being true to what you have to offer”
**Do you plan on touring outside US in the near future?? “#Europe #2013”
**Will you ever release the song Steal My Love? “I love that song… that’s a @tobygad question!”
**Do you believe that the power of the mind is like an attracting magnetic power? “I like to believe that, yes!”
**Who inspires you? “My Mom..”
**Do you like animals? “Only possums.”
**Top 3 rappers not named ASAP Rocky? “Eazy-E, Jay-Z, Eminem. BOOM!”
**Did you hate high school? “I didn’t spend much time in high school… I was doing correspondence on set for most of my teenage years.”
**When are you going to do another music video and where can people send fan mail? “New video – this year for sure! I’m working on securing a P.O box here in BK..”
**What’s your favorite song or album at the moment? “I’m listening to @teganandsara & @m83news”
**Most excited (non-music) moment you are anticipating in 2013? “VACATION!”
**The Basement Recording III was the last album of the collection? Or there still material for a fourth album? “More to come…”
**If Smallville was still on the air, would you reprise your role as Saturn Girl? “Most definitely”
**What has been you favorite song to sing live? “This tour I’d have to say Nothin’ On Me and Mary”
**Is the new record going to be a full length album or an EP? “Full length”
**Do you like crowds? “Not really..”
**What’s your favourite emoji icon? “the heart one.”
**What do you do in your free time? “I cook, I hang out with friends.. I buy records.. I bike, I do yoga, I instagram!, I listen to music… I read.. I run, I sleep.”
**What are the things or emotions that are inspiring this new album? “Drive, movement, independence, faith, love, struggle, family” and she’d later add “Courage” to this list.
**What is your favorite sport? “My favorite sport to play is Basketball! Favorite sport to watch is HOCKEY! #Canadian #truecolors #Canuck”
**Do you like a fixed setlist(SS Tour) or the more fluid one of the Spring Tour better? “More fluid… !”
**Do you have a single in your head for the album? Can you tell what is it? “I do! I’ve actually shown a snip-it of it already…”
**Have you ever considered to be a photographer? Your pics on instagram are stunning! “That’s really sweet! Thank you. It’s not a career passion for me nearly as much as music and acting… I do love instagram.. :)”
** You don’t talk about instant star much, do you regret it? “Some of the best times! I am very thankful for Instant Star… without it, my music wouldn’t reach as far on an indie level”
**How many times a week do you practice Bikram Yoga? What inspired you to start Bikram? “Oh man, if I had the time EVERYDAY! When I’m home I usually do it 5 times a week (if I can!)”
**Lyrics or melody, which comes first for you? “Both at the same time… but melody seems to take the forefront.. then I go back and finesse the lyrics!”
**What color are your eyes? “Blue, grey-ish”
**You mentioned in an interview playing covers of songs in your room, what’s your favorite song to cover? “Basketcase by @SaraBareilles”
**What is your favourite writer? Your favorite book? “It changes.. right now I’m browsing Counterfeit Gods by Timothy Keller”
**Whats your favourite snack? “Almonds or almond butter …. it’s true…”
