Since portraying “Jude Harrison” on CTV’s Instant Star, Alexz Johnson has shifted focus towards her music career. The Canadian singer/songwriter is in the process of recording the follow up to her 2012 EP, “Skipping Stone” – a project she funded through a Pledge Music campaign.

“I’ve been writing a ton this year,” says Johnson who describes the vibe of the forthcoming album as “very soulful and pretty unique.”

The album will feature a new track titled “Nothin’ On Me,” which Johnson performed on a recent Daytrotter session. A fan will also help her write a song as part of a reward of pledging $8k towards the album.

Johnson is splitting her time writing in Toronto and L.A. before heading into the studio in June. “The goal is to record around 15 tracks and pick the right ones from there,” she explains.

The singer/actress is planning a UK tour in support of the release. Dates can be found at: alexzjohnson.com
