With her unique sound and passionate songwriting style, Alexz Johnson is referred to as a modern-day Stevie Nicks with the vocal style of Aretha Franklin. After a child-star career acting and singing (So Weird, Instant Star, Final Destination) Alexz was bound for success early on and the momentum continued into her early 20’s – signing major labels deals with SONY and EPIC. A few years older and a few Major Label-year’s wiser, Alexz is proudly independent. Her massive and extremely loyal fanbase has helped Alexz to fund past releases and tours, and most recently to produce her upcoming full-length. Alexz Johnson will release her new album Let Em Eat Cake on October 14th.

What has been your biggest accomplishment this year so far?
Locking down a great management team to help take off some of the load of being an independent artist.

What are some of your goals for CMJ week?
My focus is putting on a great set! I’ll be passing through NYC while touring my new album “Let ‘Em Eat Cake” joined by Jared & The Mill.

What’s on the agenda for the rest of 2014?
This tour ends around Dec 7th – If I can fit another one in there before the holidays, I’d be a happy girl! Looking forward to 2015!
