Let’s Get To Promoting Her!
I don’t know how long this post is going to be, but there’s A LOT of things we can do to help Alexz. We had the single and the video now so now it’s time to use them to let as many ears as possible hear her music. Where possible I’m going to link to older posts since some of them have tutorial pictures and go into more detail about what you can do. I’m going to start with something only briefly touched on before in previous posts.
Authoritative/Respected Websites: I discovered a great website called Lunch that will let you Review anything you want. We would be reviewing Alexz related things. Give your review, link to her official site, videos, or music, and encourage them to listen to more of it. Some examples are here, here, and here. These are great example of articles any one of us can write to promote our girl. Articles like or similar to this can be sent to other authoritative sites like JustJared.com. There’s many of these sites out there. I know these sites would be more willing to post news and coverage about Alexz is the content was supplied to them, which is why I encourage you guys to write your own articles to promote Alexz and submit them to these kind of sites. They reach lots of different people who have lots of different interests and see A LOT of traffic every day. This takes away a lot of luck in hoping they find her and do a piece of her, just submit something to them yourself 🙂
Request Alexz on Radio! This one is REALLY important. Everything is in place now. SHOW them there’s an interest. Request! Request! Request! Get her the airplay we all know she deserves.
Twitter. There are a lot of things we can improve from the last time we attempted this, but Twitter as a promotional tool is too invaluable to not use. Music Monday, Follow Friday, just promote her for no reason other than to get her name out there. We definitely don’t need a reason to promote her other than we love her music. This area seems to be working well 🙂 We can ALWAYS use more people promoting her but I think her Twitter presence has grown a lot in the last few months.
Family, Friends, Work. This seems to be hugely effective from what I’ve been reading that people have done. They use her music at parties, put it on at work, stuff like that. Email them some ofher music or her video. This is really basic stuff but seems to be REALLY effective.
Stumbleupon. Stumble “Trip Around The World”. The traffic that goes through that service is almost unbelievable. It WILL be seen. Stumble her music as well. Just get her HEARD.
Your own blog or mini-website. When I first started looking at this Alexz’s presence was almost non-existent in this field. Now I’m happy to say Alexz is being blogged about often. Several times a week I’ll find a new blog linking to her video and giving people a brief rundown on who she is and the music she makes. This is something ANYONE can do and services that allow you to are linked in the post. I’d add webs.com, which is a pretty simple one to learn to use as well and makes it easy to edit or change what you want to show. If you have a platform somewhere to talk about her, use it 🙂 Everyone has something they can contribute in this way, maybe you just haven’t thought about using it in this fashion yet.
Myspace, Facebook, etc.: Along the same lines as above you can add her video to her profile and make Status updates about her. This is a really simply way to alert all your friends at once about Alexz. You may not have the room to tell them everything you want them to know, but afterwards you can always play her music at the next get together right? 🙂
Forum Signatures and Message Boards: We can link to her VIDEO now! 😀 That alone makes it more powerful than linking to her website or a music track. In the same way a live performance can make a fan out of someone almost instantly her music video can have as powerful of an effect. People really do click on those links and they can really help her.
Flyers, Bumper Stickers, Posters, T-Shirts, etc. I really like where this one is going. All of these things are really grassroots kind of promotion but give her the best credibility she could ever hope for. You will most likely be telling a friend or acquaintance about her and because YOU recommended her they’ll give her a listen.
I know I’ve left some stuff out. Please let me know whatever it is so I can add it. This post I DO want to be comprehensive, so if there’s anything else we can do for Alexz it needs to be here.
